SERVPRO of Cedear Mill / Oak Hills is always prepared for the worst to come. Spring weather has approached us, which indicates it's time to get ready for summer! This doesn't mean to let your guard down though, because rain is still expected to persist throughout the weeks. We always encourage everyone to get roof inspections if your home has some years on it. The structural integrity may seem adequate, however we also know that it's better to be safe than sorry.

It doesn't matter if the job is big or small. We can make sure your troubles go away immediately! Don't ever hesitate to reach out at (503) 619-6198 to inquire for all the services we can offer!

We want to be involved with the community

3/19/2019 (Permalink)

Of course many people know what SERVPRO does. Damage remediation. Mold mitigation. Cleaning. The list can go on... However, it's not always about what you do; but instead, why you do it.

We care about our community, and by this we mean that our services are more than just providing a good customer service. It's all about the experience as well, and making sure things are done right from the beginning to end. We like to get actively involved with the community, and get into events that can help individuals fully understand the fundamentals of fire safety, and taking steps to furthering the well-being of their home.

We post blogs and try to keep people informed with recent events to make sure our town knows what's happening in the area. Weather alerts can cause not only closures, but home destruction as well. So whether you're in Hillsboro, Cedar Hills, Portland, or the Bethany area... Go with the service that will always have your back and genuinely care about your situation!

You can change the clocks, but you can't change SERVPRO hours!

3/11/2019 (Permalink)

Daylight savings time has occurred over the weekend, bringing the clocks one hour forward. But just because everyone's changing their clocks forward, doesn't mean SERVPRO will be adjusting the times we operate. The need for damage restoration doesn't stop - and neither do we. That's why we are fully operational and ready for any job, big or small, 24-7.

Our jobs lately has included an abundance of water damage repairs, alongside some cleaning services. The highest volume of rainfall due to inclement weather meant quick responses to help ensure things wouldn't get worse. We have also been trying to work closely in community events, and getting the SERVPRO name out there and educating the public on what we do. If you ever encounter a need for damage restoration, don't hesitate to reach out to SERVPRO of Cedar Mill / Oak Hills!

Bake sale for the greater good!

6/1/2018 (Permalink)

Baking for a cause is a team effort!

Food, a basic human need. For those who have no trouble obtaining food, the true meaning of the word “starving” rarely comes into play. More than 41 million Americans suffer from lack of food, and of those 41 millions, 13 million of them are children.

Children need sustenance to do well in school, without it they won’t be able to focus and have the proper mindset to succeed. The No Kid Hungry program is working to eradicate the hunger problem that is blanketing America. They are pushing for breakfast and afterschool meal to be included in school, providing support the children’s families ways to keep healthy and nutritious food in the house, and offering a summer meal program so that children in America won’t go hungry again.

This may seem as though the program is far from reach, but with the support that everyone can offer, we move one step closer to a better tomorrow! So here at SERVPRO Cedar Mill/ Oak Hills, we are putting our support in the No Kid Hungry program by doing a bake sale for our community to come enjoy and help further the cause, and all proceeds go directly to the foundation. So join us from 11am-3pm at the Somerset Swim Center in Cedar Mill on June 9th to help us make our community a better place. RSVP on Facebook for more info!

Go Falcons!

A big shout out to Faith Bible Christian School for finally expanding to a new location! After 36 years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, the school has finally looked to moving their primary high school location to a brand new location in Tanasbourne. This is an exciting stage for the school and the people because the campus holds promising new aspects for them as they continue to be the outstanding school in the community.

The school has always given back to the community, making it a better place for their students and the neighbors. Always putting the community first, the school has done many volunteering events and mission trips. The school’s IMPACT volunteering event has been running for several years now with 20-30 students, several parents and teachers and other various people in the community volunteering their time over Thanksgiving to go out into the community to make it a better place. The school also travels to places in Africa to build houses, build connections, and try to make the life of the people there better. The school has done so much to give to the community around them, it is good to see that they are finally getting something nice done for them. Congratulations Faith Bible Christian School! We hope your new campus will bring lots of prosperity to you and your congregation.

Bethany Presbyterian Church Shoutout!

Basket of delectable Easter Eggs!

Happy Easter to one and all, hope everyone have had a wonderful time over this weekend to spend with their family and friends. We here at SERVPRO Cedar Mill have enjoyed spending time with our friends and family this weekend scavenge for eggs, tasting delicious homemade meals, and just appreciating the company of our love ones.

This past week, I got the chance to visit one of the local church near us just before Easter. They are the most quaint, and friendly church that I have ever got the pleasure of visiting. The Bethany Presbyterian Church welcomed me with open arms as I walk passed the doors. This Sunday, the church will be having their Easter Service as per usual, talking about how Jesus rises from the grave after three days. It was a miracle and miraculous that He risen, dying for our sins, and delivered us from evil. The service will be very educational and motivational as usual, and we hope that they have a successful sermon from their pastor. Definitely a place worth stopping by for Easter Sunday!

Happy National Puppy Day! Hope everyone’s week is ter-RUFF-ic.

Happy Puppy Day!

For this year’s puppy day, we are looking at a couple of our local animal shelters to see their efforts in tending and caring to the animal’s needs. These shelters have been a safe haven for various types of animal throughout the years, and we would like to shine a spotlight on their hard work and dedication in finding the animals a safe place to live.

Founded in 1988, Jonnie Hart has funding from the Portland Miniature Schnauzer club to help find new home for Schnauzers. Although one misconception is that they only take miniature Schnauzers, the organization actually take Schnauzers of all sizes. They are a non-profit organization that have been running by volunteers in the past 25 years, operating out of foster homes scattered throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  In the earlier years, with the local effort they placed about twelves dogs per year, and then the internet appeared. The exposure gave them a chance to relocate up to 58 dogs in 1995. Now, they place about twenty to fifty dogs annually.

Bonnie L. Hays Animal Shelter has staff that cared for about 4000 stray, abandoned and neglected animals just last year. They are open six days a week to the public, and feed and care for animals 365 days a year. If you turn in a lost animal to them, they try their hardest to find its home. Last year alone, they helped reunited over 1200 dogs and cats to their families. If the animal’s parents doesn’t want them anymore, the shelter works their hardest with other local shelters and rescues in Oregon to find a suitable home for the animals.

So for this National Puppy Day, we’d like to celebrate all the furry friends that are in your lives, as well as ours. May their amazing personalities continue to warm our hearts and spice up our lives. If you don’t have that special furry friend in your lives, why not come down to one of your local shelters and finally adopting that one true friend that you have been missing in your life.

For more information, go check out their websites.

Buy Cookies in Cedar Mill, Help Empower the Future Leaders of America

Empower young women to lead!

It may be difficult to see the link between Girl Scout Cookies and entrepreneurship, but the cookie program is the largest girl-led business in the world. Annually they sell over 200 million boxes of cookies, earning over $800 million dollars. Even more than dollars though, the Girl Scout who sells you these cookies is developing confidence, learning to set goals, manage money, and study business ethics. The digital platform for sales that launched in 2014, allowed girls to market and sell cookies online or through a digital app.

As this piece developed, girls are able to customize their websites and collect data related to their cookie sales. If you are wondering if these skills translate into real-life skills as adults, take note that Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube and Virginia Rometti, the CEO of IBM are both former Girl Scouts.

Make sure to check out the "Digitial Cookie" to find out how to buy cookies from our local troop!
