Are you and your loved ones ready for spring? After a cold, wet pandemic winter, it’s exactly the relief most of us will need.
Now that it’s March, many people are looking for ways to get outside as the weather warms up. One of the ways people do that is by planning outdoor projects around the house. That can be anything from adding new landscaping to your home to adding shutters to your house to painting your front door.
While you’re doing these projects to make your house more attractive, consider adding some projects to make your home a safer place, too. You can do things now to protect your home from strong storms later.
It’s not possible to accurately predict exactly where storms will hit. But you can do things today that will protect your home from damage.
Ensure Your Home Is Ready to Withstand a Spring Storm
Check out these projects and see if they merit a place on your home improvement priority list.
Be sure your gutters are cleaned out. When your gutters are in good shape, it allows water around your home to flow the right way. If gutters are full of debris, they can overflow and cause water damage.
Don’t ignore branches that are overhanging your home. Many people enjoy having mature trees in their yards. But they can cause damage if limbs are overhanging your home or garage during heavy winds. Cut them early.
Get your roof ready to deal with rainy weather. Look for missing shingles and signs of leaks. Then you can repair them.
If a fire, flood or any other cause damage to your home, you can always count on us for restoration assistance. We are available 24⁄7 in the event of an emergency. Contact us at any time to learn more about our restoration services and how we can help you.
